Reed Soehnel

Chief Financial Officer & Chief Compliance Officer

As the Chief Financial Officer & Chief Compliance Officer of Sun Mountain Capital, Reed is responsible for the operational execution of the Firm and its investment vehicles. This includes oversight of accounting operations, financial reporting, tax and regulatory compliance program. He is also an active member of the Firm’s Private Credit Team, conducting due diligence and structuring transactions.

Prior to joining Sun Mountain Capital, Reed spent several years at Deloitte & Touche and KPMG as a financial statement auditor, where his clients represented a variety of industries, including financial services.

Reed transitioned from public accounting to the investment world when he joined Sun Mountain Capital in 2015 as the Director of Accounting. Over the years, his contributions to the Firm have grown and expanded, culminating in his present-day role.

Mr. Soehnel earned a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy degree from Saginaw Valley State University, is a CFA® Charterholder and Certified Public Accountant in New Mexico.
